More of You Lord, less of me

Maybe you are tired of being tied. You are desperate for just one touch from the Lord. Your eyes are sore, you cry out to Him; you plead with Him “how long should I suffer, how long should I stand in hope and believe for a change. My strength feels gone, I cannot anymore, I feel numb and empty. I need more of You Lord and less of me. I cannot do it on my own. May I decrease and You increase Lord”.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6. Have you ever felt desperate? Maybe you have experienced being desperate to be married, desperate to have a baby, desperate for employment, or desperate to be healed.

The word desperate is defined as having an urgent need or desire. It is something that you want more than anything. How about desperate for God? Did you know only God can create in us a desperation for Him? None of us wake up saying, “I really want more of God.” Our natural minds don’t operate that way. God literally must put in us a desire for more of Him. And when that desire is strong, your pride just goes out of the window and you could care less about what people think.

Picture the woman with the issue of blood feeling desperate for Jesus’ healing power. She didn’t care what anybody thought of her or whether people were looking at her or not. She was desperate. Imagine blind Bartimaeus shouting “Jesus, thou Son of David have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47). He was desperate and tired of being sick and tired. He wanted a miracle and he knew the only person that could give him one was Jesus. The only person that can give you what you need is Jesus.

Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. It takes God to give you the heart of a seeker. It takes God to create in your desperation. You can be rest assured that when God gives you a hunger, a thirst, a desperation and strong desire for Him, He is about to satisfy you and be amazingly glorified in your life. Oh, how blessed we are. We are not blessed because we created that desire on our own. We are blessed because He gave it to us and He is about to meet every desire all our desperations per His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Walk in love – short story to share

Let me share with you this short yet powerful story. One Sunday we had a visitor in our church. He arrived early parked his car and got out. Another car pulled up next to him and the driver told him “I always park there “YOU TOOK MY PLACE”. The visitor politely kept quiet and proceeded to go inside for Sunday school. When inside church he found an empty seat, and sat down. A young lady from the church approached him and stated, “That’s my seat, YOU TOOK MY PLACE”. The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome by this church members but said nothing.

After Sunday school the visitor went into the church sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, “That’s where I always sit, YOU TOOK MY PLACE”. The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment but still said nothing. Later, as the congregation were praying and asking God to dwell among them, the visitor stood and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet. With the changes becoming more and more apparent to all in the church to see then someone from the congregation called out, “What happened to you?” The visitor replied “I TOOK YOUR PLACE”!!!!!!!!! Let’s all walk-in love. AMEN

Season of Spiritual Evaluation

I believe we all need to go through a season of spiritual evaluation as believers at one point in our lives. We need to check ourselves. Just like we do with our physical bodies with the physical examinations so does our spiritual health needs to be assessed. In times of trials that’s when we see our spiritual level. There is no time to be a lukewarm believer, it’s either you in or you out. God is looking for those who diligently seek Him.

Whatever you going through do not let go of your faith, growth comes through trials – “hold on”.  It might be painful right now but God’s Word says He will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born. Listen at the end of it all you coming out GOLD. For the gold to be refined it goes through a process, it goes through an intense fire. That is what purifies the gold. This is a process what you going through to get to where God designed you to be. YOU COMING OUT GOLD.

God’s covenant with us

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  God Has plans for you. hallelujah!

2 Samuel 9:1 Mephibosheth was the grandson of King Saul and the son of Jonathan who had been a close covenant friend to David.

David had a desire to bless someone from Saul’s family for Jonathan’s sake. One of his servants reported that Mephibosheth was alive and living in a town called Lo-debar.

The name Lo-debar means pasture less. In an agricultural society, a place without pastures – probably a place of poverty. In ancient Israel, when two people entered a covenant relationship, everything each of them possessed was made available to the other. The covenant relationship also meant that they would help one another, fight for one another, do anything necessary to meet each other’s needs.

2 Samuel 4:4 —his nurse ran from the palace with him in her arms fearing that David might try to take vengeance on the boy because of the way David was treated by King Saul. During the escape, Mephibosheth fell and was crippled in his legs. Instead of seeing himself as the rightful heir to his fathers and grandfather’s legacy, he saw himself as someone who would be rejected.

A poor self-image causes us to operate in fear instead of faith. We look at what is wrong with us instead of what is right with Jesus. God’s Word says because of His covenant with us, we can be the head and not the tails, above and not beneath Deuteronomy 28:13

2 Samuel 9:13 Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem. We may also fellowship and eat with our King Jesus even though we have faults and weakness. We still have covenant with God, sealed in the blood of Jesus we offer God what we have and He gives us what He has He takes all our sins, faults, weaknesses and failures and give us His ability, His righteousness and His strength. He takes our poverty and gives us riches. He takes our diseases and sicknesses and give us His healing and health. He takes our failure filled past and gives us the hope of a bright future.

God’s unfailing love

  • Love is such an overused word, don’t we all or some ‘love’ cheesecake, apple pie etc. But love in the Bible has a much richer meaning, particularly when applied to God’s feeling toward His people. The Bible describes a kind of love that goes far beyond the greatest human capacity. God watches over those who fear Him, those who rely on His unfailing love. We depend on the Lord alone to save us. Only He can help us, protecting us like a shield.

Psalm 33:18, 20 says; I have loved you my people with an everlasting love. With unfailing love, I have drawn you to myself.

Jeremiah 31:1 Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord. So, rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey Him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!

Psalm 32:10-11 The Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father. John 1:14 God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. John 3:16-17 We know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.

But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God’s judgment. For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by His life. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God — all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God.

Romans 5:5, 8-11 We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called by Him. Romans 8:28 God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so very much, that even while we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s special favor that you have been saved)

For He raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with Him in the Heavenly Realms, all because we are one with Christ Jesus. And so, God can always point to us as examples of the incredible wealth of His favor and kindness toward us, as shown in all He has done for us through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-7 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.

Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:19 Anyone who does not love does not know God for God is love. God showed how much He loved us by sending His Only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and His love has been brought to full expression through us.
And God has given us His Spirit as proof that we live in Him and Him in us

Let us spread the love of God amongst us.
