Rain on my skin

 

The day I had the taste of rain on my skin once again. I can honestly say it felt good to be rained on. My twin sister and I took chances even if we could see the clouds were lil bit dark and low. We thought just a mile won’t hurt at our usual park spot. Anyway when we were about half a mile, few sprinkles of rain started to drop. As ‘determined’ as we were, we choose to continue on the trail than to turn back. Then almost immediately it just poured like somebody left the cold water tap running. Without any umbrella or rain coat, with half a mile away from the vehicle we had to choose whether to walk or run to the vehicle but we chose to walk. Never mind the hair there was no point of acting cute trying to cover it up. The last time I was rained on like that was at my younger age and I used to enjoy to be outside in the rain. You know what I love it. I love the smell of rain. I loved how it felt on my skin, it gave me refreshment feeling. There was no thunderstorms or anything like that just pure pouring of fresh rain. People ran like they were being chased by something and literally diving inside their vehicles. Some looked at my sister and I weird because not only were we walking gracefully like it’s a warm November day but we were also holding hands I’m really not quite sure what they thought or make of that. But the bottom line is we walked together.
#MoralOfTheStory Sometimes you don’t have to fight it. Let go and let God, trust the process you will still reach your predestined destination. God is with you and for you. Also be mindful of the people who don’t want to be part of the process but just want to be part of the outcome. Appreciate and be thankful for those who are with you in your process. AMEN!

Say NO

When confronted with two choices between good and bad, you the one who has the power to say yes or no. Let’s look at Daniel and his friends they could have said “let’s just eat and gain favor at the court”. A simple yet a powerful answer “NO” goes a long way. Sometimes it doesn’t require a supernatural intervention to say NO, it is within our God’s given power and ability to resist temptation. We should train our minds to say no to temptation even how glittery and beautiful it looks, if it’s contrary to the Word of God we don’t have to give a little chance to it. Daniel 6:1-7 Daniel was one of God’s mighty men, a great prophet. A man of intellect and culture. He had no blemish on his character. In fact, this wasn’t his first temptation, many temptations came to him nevertheless he did not yield to any of them. Remember “you cannot stop birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair” _ Martin Luther. 1Corinthians 10:13 says; No temptation has over taken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, they you may be able to endure it.

King Nebuchadnezzar was feared throughout the world that time. He would invade a country and defeat it, then take the most talented and useful people. He would also take beautiful women and the wisest men back to Babylon. It was then a time king Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem and took Daniel and some of other young men captives to Babylon. He told his lieutenant to pick out several promising young men to be trained for leadership positions. Young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. And the lieutenant had to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians. They were to be trained for three years and then after, enter the king’s service. Among those selected were Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king’s table. So, the meat and wine were set before the young men but they refused to eat nor drink. They stood firm on their ground and said no to temptation. How many of us can stand firm on the Word of God and refuse to yield to temptation that looks pleasing in one’s eyes? They could have said; “let’s just eat a little and then let it go” or “let’s just eat and find favor in the court”.

Don’t give in to pressure that will result to lowering your standard. Daniel 1:8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. They had already purposes in their hearts and made up their minds not to defile themselves with the portion of the king’s meat or the wine. Failure to say no to temptation has broken many relationship, marriages, families etc. Yielding to temptation leading to sins of omission as Christians, failing to pray or spend time with the Lord. Saying no to temptation you will always win. God rewards those who are true to their convictions.

 

Powerful name of JESUS

Jesus never wrote a book but no library in the world could hold the volume of books that have been written about Him. He never went to a Medical College but He has healed multitudes, without medicine and making no charges for His services. He never was a chef but He fed over 5,000 people with only five loaves and two fishes, and had twelve basketful left over. He never was a mortician but He raised at least three people from the dead while He was on earth. He arose from the dead Himself and the hour is coming when all that are in the graves shall hear His voice and shall come forth; the that have done good unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29). Jesus never did marshall any army, draft a soldier, or fire a gun, but no military leader ever had more followers give him such love and devotion, and voluntarily lay down their lives for His cause. Jesus never became in this worlds goods. However, He owns all the gold and silver in this world and the cattle on thousand hills are His, all things having been created by Him. He left His riches in heaven and became poor, that we through His poverty might be made rich. The Son of God put on humanity that the sons of men might put on divinity. The Son of God became the Son of man, that men might become sons of God. The Son of God came from heaven to earth that sons of men might go from earth to heaven. The Son of God suffered, bled and died on the cross that sons of men might live; that they might not perish but have everlasting life. He died on the cross and rose on the third day. He is alive, what a wonderful Christ, what a wonderful Savior.
